Tessera's beach

Do you love jogging, Nordic walking or just walking in nature? You will never believe it! A few steps from us there is a magnificent place called by the Tessera's people "The beach of Tessera". Here you can see the lagoon's typical birds, a beautiful pair of swans that return each year during the spring to give birth to other beautiful little birds.

A strange contrast will attend you, on one side you have nature and on the other the airport runway, where you will be able to see the landings and the departures of the flights very close and just in front of you the Venice's lagoon and there... in the distance...the magnificent Venice!

Altino's Archaeological Museum

The Altino's National Archaeological Museum presents to the public the most representative archaeological finds of pre-Roman and Roman Altino, the main city, and The Venetians' ancient port.

On the ground floor there are the prehistoric sections of "the Bronze Age" and "the Iron Age" of the city (as well as a sampling of prehistoric materials from the lagoon) with the exhibition of prehistoric finds from the Mesolithic to the passage from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age and pre-Roman artefacts related to the town, places of worship and the necropolis, including two horse burials.

The reconstructions of important funerary contexts in wooden boxes and in tiled enclosures testify to the Altino's funeral rituals in the fifth century BC and during the Romanization period. Continue to the first floor with the indigenous Romanization's settlement period and with the Altinum's Roman city.

The course analyzes the continuity and change of the elements determined by the progressive contact with the Rome's reality and documents the various aspects of the public and private life of the municipium: urban planning, architecture, articulation of society, artistic expression, trade.
